Undergarments (jumpsuits, vests, stockings) should be made of synthetic fibers or wool – merino wool is one of the best options. Avoid cotton at all costs; it retains moisture and ensures deep discomfort.

For boots, choose a rubber or Thermolite (a synthetic rubber) sole because they are more slip-resistant in cold weather.

On the technical side, check that the cuffs are adjustable to allow mittens to pass through. Also confirm that the jacket has a hood and is helmet compatible if your child skis or snowboards.

Choose snow pants with adjustable straps, a snow gaiter to cover the boot and a canvas thick enough at the bottom to resist chafing.

For the boots, make sure they are not too small! Did you know that there should be about 1cm of space in the front and back of the foot?

  1. The “Grow with me” system
